Puglia(Apulia) is the most beautiful region in the world. For the second time.. Puglia has been named, for the second time, the “most beautiful region in the world”. An exceptional milestone and a source of pride for Puglia, literally envied by foreigners for its immense heritage (culinary, artistic, historical, natural).
Winning the prize “Best value travel destination in the world” is not a trivial matter! Puglia has made its way among thousands and thousands of “competitors” certainly of excellent level and has managed, for the second time, to win the renowned prize. The three foreign giants National Geographic, Lonely Planet and New York Times had no doubt in considering Puglia as the most beautiful region in the world.
In the Apulian territory there are the best examples of Baroque architecture, fascinating cities with millenary history, historical monuments, Greek and Neolithic archaeological sites, the most beautiful beaches in Italy, cliffs overlooking the sea, the Castellana caves, the splendid Polignano a Mare by Domenico Modugno, beautiful and suggestive villages such as Ostuni and Locorotondo.
And how not to mention the three UNESCO heritage sites: Castel del Monte, the Trulli of Alberobello and the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo in Monte Sant’Angelo. There would also be a fourth but it is not yet official: let’s talk about the historic dry stone walls that can be admired especially on central-southern Puglia.
Puglia is among the first places in the world also for its culinary art: the wide range of Apulian products and traditions represent an explosion of flavors envied not only abroad but also in other Italian regions.
Puglia is a real triumph that significantly improves the image of Italy in the eyes of tourists, who will now be even more tempted to visit / try our timeless wonders.
